GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - A man convicted twice before of Driving Under the Influence was arrested again over the weekend. This time he's charged with Felony DUI.
Gulfport Police say early Sunday morning, around 3am, a patrol officer spotted John Wesley Carter driving in the area of Gulf Avenue and 26th 1/2 Street. After observing a traffic violation, the officer pulled Carter over and arrested him for DUI. When investigators learned that Carter had two previous convictions for DUI, the charge was upgraded to Felony DUI.
Carter is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center in lieu of a $15,000 bond set by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner.
