Biloxi Shuckers remain unbeaten with 2-1 win at Montgomery Saturday night

Biloxi Shuckers right handed pitcher Taylor Williams was back on the mound Saturday night.  He made his Double-A debut and his first appearance since he played at Single-A Brevard County in 2014.   Williams had missed two seasons while recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Williams pitching 3 innings on Saturday against the Montgomery Biscuits.  He gave up only 1 hit, no runs, tossed 3 strikeouts and walked a batter.

Nick Ramirez picked up his first win on the mound after making the transition from slugger to relief pitcher during spring practice.  The former Cal State Fullerton pitcher tossed one-third of an inning and struck out two batters.

First baseman Dustin DeMuth provided the big hits for the Shuckers.  He belted a solo-home run in the top of the fifth inning.  DeMuth provided the game winning hit in the top of the ninth with a RBI double that scored Michael Reed.  DeMuth was 2-for-4 at the plate.

The Shuckers take aim on a fourth consecutive win 2:05 Sunday afternoon at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery.
