Pearl River Lady Wildcats head coach Scotty Fletcher said, "I think it's an opportunity to reward the local kids, from our school district and surrounding area for their dedication to their high school coaches and their communities. And it gives the seniors one more opportunity to showcase their talents. It's a great opportunity for a player that has maybe fallen through the cracks, recruiting-wise."
One of the standout players participating on Thursday is Bay High senior Jamaya Galloway, who starting playing on the Lady Tigers varsity team since the seventh grade. The was last year's Most Valuable Player in the Underclass girls game. LaMiracle Sims of Moss Point will also be playing in the Senior girls game. She was the state's leading rebounder this past season.
Coach Fletcher said, "It's a great recruiting tool to get players onto our campus. For the underclass players, it allows them to get to know us and learn about the Wildcats Way: Pride, Respect, Class and Character. So it pays dividends for both our school and the players."
Admission is $8 at the door and concessions will be available.
