The funeral director tells us there are around 300 people standing shoulder to shoulder waiting for the funeral to start.

A family friend said the children’s mother, Jackie Dixon, is devastated she cannot make it to the service.

The friend said Dixon was seriously injured in the crash and had to have a leg amputated from the knee down. The friend said she had surgery Tuesday and could not physically make it to the funeral.

Donations for the family can be dropped off at Central Elementary School in Lucedale.
