Coast Economy Could Get Boost From Spain

The Coastal economy could get a boost from a proposed trade partnership with Spain.

The European country is looking to do business with U.S. companies. This week, Mississippi companies met with a delegate from Spain. If agreements can be worked out, Mississippi products will be shipped overseas, and more Mississippians will be put to work.

"I think that's why Sen. Lott invited me here, to try and help look at the ways we can help Mississippi join the globalization and benefit from it," Spanish delegate Michael Liikala said. "They've got the product. It's just about identifying the markets.

Companies like Triton Industries met with the Spanish delegation. The coast company makes ATM machines, and that's the kind of product Spain wants to import.
