A small rural church in Harrison County is reaching out to Central America. About 15 members of Gulf Haven Mennonite Church are planning a mission trip to Nicaragua.
The regular Sunday attendance is only about 120. But members decided the size of the congregation doesn't matter when reaching out in Christian ministry.
The Nicaragua trip will include several mission projects.
"We're helping to put an addition on to a school," Gulf Haven Pastor Paul Conrad said. "They have a three room school, and with all the people they are now schooling they need more room. And so they'll be doing that. There will also be a summer bible school there and some of the people will be helping with that also."
