One School District Picks Superintendant, Another Chooses Candidates

The Pascagoula school district is under new leadership.

The school board named Pascagoula High School Principal Hank Bounds as the district's new superintendent Thursday night. Dr. David Snowden is the district's present superintendent, but he will soon leave for a position in Tennessee.

Bounds has worked in education for 10 years, and has been principal at Pascagoula High for the past two years. He says the new position is the next natural step in his career.

"I knew I always wanted to move to this position," Bounds said. "I didn't know it would be this soon, but it's exciting. I'm glad to have the opportunity."

Meanwhile, the Moss Point school board is getting closer to making a final decision on who will serve as superintendent of that district. They've narrowed the candidates down to six.

Former Superintendent Dr. James Easton recently left the district for a superintendent's position in Lafayette, La.
