MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

One man is behind bars and another man is in critical condition after an early morning wreck in Mobile. It happened around 6 a.m. on Halls Mill Road near Rangeline Road.

Mobile Police say 29-year-old William Pruett left the scene, but police say they found him almost two hours later. They charged him with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident involving an injury, and assault.

Officers say Pruett was driving his jeep when he struck a motorcycle, knocking the 49-year-old man off the bike. Investigators believe Pruett kept driving with the motorcycle still attached to his front bumper.

First responders rushed the victim to the hospital, but Pruett was nowhere to be found. It wasn't until police got a tip over the phone that they were able to find Pruett at his home only a mile up the road. His jeep was outside with the motorcycle still attached.

This isn't Pruett’s first time in trouble on the road. Jail records show he was also arrested for a DUI in 2008.

We're told the 49-year-old man who was on the motorcycle is still in critical condition at a local hospital.
