Couple found dead in rural Clay County

WEST POINT, Miss. (AP) - Clay County authorities have identified a Tupelo couple found shot to death.

Sheriff Eddie Scott says Kentario L. Boyd and Kenya Campbell, both 23, suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The bodies have been sent to the state crime lab to determine a cause of death.

Authorities say the bodies were found Tuesday about 4 p.m. inside a red Chrysler PT Cruiser on a road near the Webster County line. The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports ( ) neither victim had a prior criminal history in Clay County but the isolated road where they were found is known as a place for criminal activity.

Scott says it's the first double-homicide in the county in at least 18 years. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting his office.
