BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

One week after a deadly crash involving a CSX train and a charter bus out of Texas, the National Transportation Safety Board’s investigation continues to move forward. NTSB officials interviewed the bus driver Tuesday.

NTSB spokesman Peter Knudson said some of the information gathered during that interview will be included in a preliminary report, which is expected to be released within the next three weeks. Knudson could not say whether the driver remains in the hospital.

The bus driver is named as a defendant in several lawsuits filed by crash survivors and family members of those killed in the collision.

NTSB: Main St. was not on planned route for bus involved in train crash

Knudson said the NTSB is wrapping up its investigation of the accident site, and investigators expect to leave Biloxi on Thursday. The next step of the investigation is to dig deeper into exactly what happened that fateful day.

Knudson said the entire investigation is expected to last at least 12 months.
