GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

It may not be long before John Harrison Doucet will be coming home.

Doucet suffered severe burns when his sailboat hit a power line at the Gulfport Yacht Club in 2016. According to his grandmother, he is set to return home in April.

Family reports the 20 year old is doing well in rehabilitation at the Georgia hospital where he has been since the incident.

His father Tommy says that when his son was told about a recent sunset cruise fundraising event, it "put a spark in his eyes and brought a big smile to his face."
