(RNN) – There’s no disputing that White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer has a tough job – but was he signaling for help during his Friday news conference?

The American flag pin on his lapel was upside-down, a sign for distress, according to USFlag.org.

Twitter went wild, of course:

As soon as he threw the floor open for questions, a Fox News reporter called his attention to the wardrobe malfunction.

He laughed, thanked John Roberts for the "fashion advice," righted Old Glory and proceeded with the briefing.
