STONE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A Biloxi man will spend the rest of his life in prison for his role in the murder of a well-known Stone County businessman.

Jody Parks, 24, pleaded guilty to capital murder Friday morning. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Parks is accused of beating and stabbing Timmy Garrison to death in January 2015. Garrison’s wife, Evelyn, and Parks’ cousin, Emmett Entrekin, allegedly recruited Parks to carry out the brutal killing.

Entrekin and Evelyn were charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Their trial is set to begin July 17.

Evelyn reportedly told investigators she had grown tired of abuse from her husband, and the murder was planned to look like a robbery. Garrison’s body was found outside a business he co-owned with his wallet and some other personal item missing.

Parks testified he was promised $10,000 to kill Garrison, but he never received the money.
