Oasis Church in Pascagoula expands reach into Ocean Springs

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - It's an old name with some new digs. Welcome to church at the Mary C. O'Keefe Cultural Center in Ocean Springs.

Oasis Church in Pascagoula has added another campus. Doors opened for the first time Sunday.

"We're launching this campus for multiple reasons," said Pastor Eric Camp. "Number one, to alleviate some congestion at our Pascagoula campus, and, also, just be able to reach people."

Camp is excited about the potential.

"The Mary C. is such a great facility that we're just honored to be able to lease this facility," Camp said. "When we pack this out two or three times, then we'll talk about building a building. Until then, we want to be right here at the Mary C."

The church has about 200 members from the Ocean Springs, D'Iberville, and St. Martin area. In addition to geography, the service time, 5 p.m., is also a nice option.

"A lot of folks can't make Sunday mornings because of work or other reasons," Camp said. "So, this is another venue."

Melissa Davis lives in Ocean Springs. A hometown version of the church she loves is a nice fit.

"Oasis is just so friendly and so family oriented and to be able to have it in our community," Davis said. "I'm just so excited."

The move is also good for the church's ultimate goal.

"Very excited to be at this location, because we'll be able to meet more people and bring them to Christ," said member Wilda Fischer Marshall. "We love that. We are all about serving Jesus."

The service at the Mary C. will be the same service done for the two morning services in Pascagoula.
