Garden Park Medical Center Celebrates First Anniversary

Garden Park Medical Center is celebrating a special anniversary.

It was one year ago this week that Garden Park opened its new facility in Orange Grove.  To mark the occasion, employees there enjoyed a special steak luncheon Wednesday.

One year ago, the new medical center on Community Road replaced the old hospital on Broad Avenue. Orange Grove was chosen because of its central location, and the tremendous growth in that area.

"It has met our expectations and even more," Garden Park Chief Executive Officer William Peaks said. "I think we're just beginning to scratch the surface of what needs to be done and what we're hoping to add to our community here in Orange Grove."

The medical center includes 130 beds, an expanded emergency room, and a state-of-the-art birthing center.
