OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - The City of Ocean Springs is preparing for the annual Carnival Association Night Parade.
Nearly three hours before the party gets started, residents are already claiming the best spots. Extra preparations have been made in hopes of keeping families safe.
More barricades, additional security, and double the amount of lighting from past years will all be in place. If anything of of the ordinary should occur, law enforcement officials are confident they'll be able to respond quickly.
Roads on the route will be shut down starting at 5:45 p.m., and the parade begins at 7 p.m. at the water front. From there it will run on Porter Avenue to Washington Avenue, eventually turning on Government Street.
