Sheriff: Stolen 4-wheeler leads to stash of stolen property

SAUCIER, MS (WLOX) - A stolen four-wheeler spotted by its owner led investigators to a stash of drugs and stolen items on Lennis Cuevas Rd. in Saucier.

Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson said it all started Monday when a man driving down the road noticed someone riding a four-wheeler that was stolen from him recently.

Peterson said the owner stopped the man on the ATV near the intersection of Lennis Cuevas Rd. and Saucier Lizana Rd. and held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived. The man who was riding the four-wheeler was arrested once it was verified the ATV was stolen.

After searching the suspect's property, Peterson said deputies found marijuana, methamphetamine, and several firearms and hunting bows believed to be linked to recent burglaries in the area.

Peterson said the drugs and weapons were found at the home of Dewayne Duncan and Jennifer Tackett.

Duncan and Tackett were charged with two counts each of possession of narcotics, methamphetamine and marijuana, but more charges are possible. Their bonds were set at $40,000 by Judge Brandon Ladner.
