PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - The City of Pascagoula is exploring the option of moving all voting precincts to one central facility.
The idea is to use the Civic Center at the Jackson County Fairgrounds to avoid voter confusion in the future. However, there are mixed feelings about the proposed change.
Some Pascagoula residents believe it will be a great change to ensure everyone is on the same page. Others believe the option will leave voters unable to make it to the polls.
"I don't think it's a good idea, because it's gonna mess up a lot of people. If it was a vote or a petition they wouldn't have my vote because I don't think it's a great idea. It's just gonna mess up everything," said Imani Miller.
Henry Harris added, "Really, I think that's a good idea because mainly there were a lot of precincts where people didn't know where to go vote. If you make one location, everybody will know that's where you go vote."
The discussion will be an item on the agenda of the next Pascagoula city council meeting on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
