BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Bond has been set for two Picayune men accused of a kidnapping and carjacking that happened in Biloxi over the weekend. It happened Friday night on casino row in downtown Biloxi, and the crime has people talking.
"I wish they'd catch the guy and make them pay for causing somebody else trouble," said Bill Gething.
One of the suspects, Colton James Delaughter, 26, was arrested around 4 a.m. Feb. 19, said Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison. Police confirm 23-year-old William Jason Stockstill was also arrested later in the day.
The victims were left on the side of the road in the Bay St. Louis area, but the whole horrifying ordeal began in the 800 block of Biloxi, near the Beau Rivage Casino.
Police say Delaughter and Stockstill approached the two victims just as they were getting luggage out of their vehicle. Pass Christian Police Chief Tim Hendricks said both victims are sailors stationed at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida.
"We come down here about three four times a year and we've always been lucky. We've never had anything like that happen," said David Carter.
Armed with guns, the suspects reportedly forced the victims back into their vehicle, and drove to Pass Christian where they made them withdraw money from a gas station ATM. Then they stole their 2014 Chevrolet Cruz and left the victims unharmed.
"It's bad for the area, because a lot of people come here to get away from that; to get away from the everyday russle and tussle," said Jeff Langham. "That's just terrible you know it's bad the area. It's bad for the economy of this area."
Delaughter and Stockstill are charged with two counts of kidnapping and one count of carjacking. Their bonds were set at $750,000.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Biloxi police at 228-435-6112.
