JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - After working for more than an hour, crews have finally cleared a multi-vehicle crash that halted eastbound traffic on I-10 in Jackson County.
Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Chase Elkins said the pileup happened after the right eastbound lane was closed because an 18-wheeler was leaking diesel fuel.
Elkins said the truck spilled about 50 gallons of diesel from its fuel tank onto the shoulder of the interstate.
It is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash, but officials said only minor injuries were reported.
MHP said the Mississippi Department of Transportation still has one lane of traffic closed in the area to work on a road widening project.
