BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Biloxi police are working to identify a couple suspected of stealing a woman’s purse, burglarizing her car, and using her credit card.

Investigator Kris Hines, Jr. said the couple stole the victim’s purse Feb. 5 while she was inside a business in the 1800 block of Hwy. 90.

The suspects reportedly found the keys to the woman’s vehicle while rummaging through the purse. Police said the couple found the victim’s vehicle in the parking lot and took items from inside.

Hines said the suspects used a stolen credit card at the Walmart on Ct Switzer Dr. later that same day.

Surveillance cameras in the store caught the couple on tape. Police are hoping those pictures will lead to an arrest.

If you can identify the suspects or have information that could help the investigation, please call the Biloxi Police Department at 228-392-0641 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898.

All lanes of Highway 90 are now open. A Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman says an 18-wheeler crossed the median on Interstate 10 Thursday morning, causing a deadly series of accidents. It was just before 6:00 a.m. That truck was heading west near the Ocean Springs exit. Suddenly, it veered left, crossed the median and smashed into a motorcycle on the eastbound side of I-10. The MHP spokesman says that motorcycle driver died at the scene.

We are not strangers to flooding on the Mississippi Coast. Nor are our neighbors to the west in Louisiana. There are forever ongoing efforts, planning and discussions about how to mitigate flooding. But a recent study by the Rand Corporation is more than a little disturbing.
