BILOXI, MS (WLOX/AP) - The Pass Christian at Long Beach basketball clash was a physical encounter. Both the Pirates and Bearcats were pumped and their emotions ran high.
Before Pass Christian pulled away and posted a 68-52 win, a total of three technical fouls were handed out to Long Beach. The Pirates extended their winning streak to nine games and were led by Montez Green. He netted 17 points.
Pass Christian improved to 18 and 7 on the season and have second-place in the Region 8-4A standings with a 7-2 record, sitting right behind Bay High. The Tigers have run off a 9-1 region slate. On Tuesday Bay High defeated Hancock 69-29.
The Pass Christian Pirates coasted under the win column Tuesday night with a 62-17 victory. Head coach Greta Ainsworth has a young basketball team and she cleared the bench in the dominating victory. Pass Christian is the number one seed in Region 8-4A and will open the Region 8-4A Tournament in Vancleave beginning Tuesday night.

The Gulfport Admirals defeated St. Martin 67-53. The Gulfport Lady Admirals stung the St. Martin Lady Jackets 54-47. The Hancock Lady Hawks defeated the Bay High Lady Tigers 38-35.
Christian Collegiate Academy opened the first round of the MAIS District 4 AA Tournament. The boys team watched their season come to an end, losing a 47-29 decision to Newton County Academy. The Christian Collegiate girls advanced into the second round after a 34-21 win over Wayne Academy.
