JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A Harrison County grand jury has cleared the sheriff’s deputies who shot a woman after a high-speed chase in October 2016.

The grand jury determined the deputies acted lawfully in the shooting of Catrick Tasha Moye-Howell.

Moye-Howell was shot while running from deputies near Lamey Bridge Rd. and Big Ridge Rd., police said. She was a passenger in a truck involved in a high-speed chase that started in Jackson County and ran into D’Iberville.

The man who was allegedly driving the truck, Carl Young, is charged with felony fleeing and possession of a stolen vehicle in Jackson County. D’Iberville police also charged Young with aggravated assault on a police officer, leaving the scene of an accident causing serious injury, and felony fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
