GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Hope Academy is expanding and opening its doors to younger students. The Gulfport school will break ground next month on a new building for the preschool program.

A new 3,200 square foot building will allow the school to expand its program.

The private school is on 16 acres at Florence Gardens.

This expansion will give students as young as two years old a chance to learn there.

"The Hope Academy Preschool Program offers instruction for starting at age two, so we have Pre-K2, Pre-K3, Pre-K4. Currently Hope Academy has classes for Pre-K3 through fourth grade. We are enrolling now for the upcoming school year, the 2017-2018 school year, for Pre-K2 through the fifth grade," said Rachel Rath, the Director of Administration for Hope Academy.

The Hope Academy campus opened a year ago after spending two years at a temporary location in the Bayou View area.
