D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) -

Multiple residents in D'Iberville are reporting sightings of heavy smoke in the area.

According to officials, it is a result of a 1,100 acre burn in Stone County by the Mississippi Forestry. Although smoke continues to drift south due to wind, the burn is under control.

“All the smoke should clear out in the next hour

"Smoke is staying low to the ground, low clouds and the mixing height was lower than we wanted it to be," said Jay Boykin with the U.S. Forest Service. “Our smoke did go down toward D’Iberville and Biloxi. The biggest part of the smoke will clear out into the gulf in about an hour.”
