6 members of the Black Gangster Disciples arrested

Following a two year investigation, six George County residents and one Greene County resident have been arrested on federal drug charges. 

Details about the investigation are limited, but officials have confirmed that six of the suspects are known members or associates of the Black Gangster Disciples Street Gang. 

FBI agents made the following arrests in George County on Feb. 2:

  • Jerry Street, 35 of George County
  • Garnett Edwin Smith, 38, George County
  • Alisha Christina Smith, 36, George County
  • Timothy Adam Harvard, 40, George County
  • Tarsen Deveal Fairley, 29, George County
  • Mareo Green, 36, Greene County. 

Additionally, 30-year-old Zack Bexton of George County was arrested in Vancouver Washington. 

All seven suspects have been charged with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. The suspects arrested in Mississippi will appear before a Gulfport judge on Feb. 3  

The FBI released a statement, saying in part:

"These arrests are the result of a two-year joint investigation into methamphetamine trafficking in Southeast Mississippi by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force in Pascagoula, Mississippi; the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics; the George County Sheriff’s Office; the Lucedale Police Department; the South Mississippi Metro Enforcement Team; and Southeast Mississippi Narcotics Task Force.

The FBI Safe Streets Task Force is a Gulf Coast High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) initiative, and receives funding from the Office of National Drug Control Policy in Washington, D.C. It is made up of special agents from the FBI and law enforcement officers from the Pascagoula, Moss Point, Gautier and Ocean Springs police departments; the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics; and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department."
