BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The Vietnamese community rang in the year of the Rooster Saturday afternoon in downtown Biloxi.
The New Year celebration commonly known as Tet featured double dancing dragons, and martial arts demonstrations. Onlookers gathered in front of Lee's International Market to watch the ceremony .
Firecrackers are said to chase away evil spirits, while colorful dragons welcome good luck for the new year .
Tet is also a time for family reunions, festivals, and exchanging gifts.
