JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - The Moss Point man accused of beating and burning his 3-year-old son last year has been indicted on two more counts of felony child abuse.
Nathan Blake McCrory, 25, was out on bond for two counts of felony child abuse, but he was back behind bars Tuesday after the indictment was handed down. He is being held at the Jackson County jail without bond.
Officials said Zander Saucier was rushed to the hospital during a weekend visit with McCrory on April 11, 2016.
McCrory originally reported Zander fell down stairs, but he was arrested after the staff at Singing River Hospital determined the boy's injuries were not consistent with that story.
Zander was airlifted to USA Children's and Women's Hospital in Mobile, AL where he spent days fighting for his life.
According to an affidavit, Zander was hit in the face, head and body. His injuries included burns, a bleed on the brain, a collapsed lung, and liver perforation.
McCrory was first charged with child neglect, but those charges were later upgraded to felony child abuse.
