HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk said he believes the man found dead in Waveland over the weekend likely died from a drug overdose.
Faulk said toxicology tests show Kenneth Benjamin Billodoux, 29, had drugs and alcohol in his system when he died.
Sheriff Ricky Adam said someone was taking Billodoux, of Mandeville, LA, to the hospital when the car they were riding in broke down along Hwy. 90. Billodoux died in the car before he could make it to the hospital, Adam said.
Faulk said several people interviewed during the investigation said Billodoux had an ongoing problem with drug addiction.
Billodoux's body was sent to the state crime lab in Pearl. His autopsy is set for Tuesday morning. Faulk said lab results will show the amount of drugs Billodoux had in his system when he died. Faulk said he should have those results in about three weeks.
