Barry Lyons feels at home in a baseball stadium, more so, when you consider he recently signed a one-year contract with the hometown Biloxi Shuckers.
"Well, I'm an ambassador for the Biloxi Shuckers and I'm going to do as much as I can to help promote the Biloxi Shuckers in the community and here at the ballpark and everywhere I go basically, "said Lyons.
Barry Lyons had a vision of bringing minor league baseball to the coast years ago and he did everything he could in helping that vision become reality in 2015...when the Biloxi Shuckers took center stage at MGM Park.
However, Barry's mission felt incomplete because he wasn't hired by the Shuckers. That has all changed.
Lyons said, "Things have a way of working out and if you're a believer and I certainly am a believer and I trust in the Lord. The process was long and winding, but the end result, I'm part of this organization now and that's what I wanted from the get go and I'm thankful for it."
Lyons says affordable family entertainment is a key positive he'll use in promoting the Shuckers.
"The baseball experience is special, "stated Lyons. "Certainly, there's not a better level of Minor League baseball as far as I'm concerned then Double-A baseball. You're seeing some great talent every single night and then the enjoyment for the kids and the families. There nothing like being at the ballpark."
From my viewpoint, the Shuckers have hit a home run in the hiring of Barry Lyons.
