D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) -

After barricading himself inside of a home, Scott Michael Fitzgerald of D'Iberville is behind bars with a $600,000 bond.

D'Iberville police responded to a domestic violence at a home on Highway 15 around 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 12. When they arrived, Fitzgerald was inside with his ex-girlfriend and refused to come outside.

Denied entry, officers forced their way inside of the victim's home, and took Fitzgerald into custody without incident.

The victim told police that her ex-boyfriend held her against her will for several hours and physically assaulted her. Both the victim and Fitzgerald were taken to the hospital to be evaluated, and Fitzgerald was arrested after being released.

The suspect was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on charges of domestic violence-aggravated assault and kidnapping.
