(RNN) - If you haven't already devoured the white peppermint Twinkies, you may want to reconsider eating the sweet snack.

Hostess Brands, LLC, is voluntarily recalling its Holiday White Peppermint Hostess Twinkies because Blommer Chocolate Company has recalled the coating used on the Twinkies. The company is concerned the milk powder used in it may be contaminated with salmonella, the FDA announced

Palmer Candy Co. is also voluntarily recalling products because of salmonella concerns linked with milk powder used in 22 of its products, including two Publix-brand products. A list of affected products can be found here.

The Hostess recall applies only to the Holiday White Peppermint Hostess Twinkies - UPC 888109111571 - which were sold in multipack boxes of nine individually wrapped treats at stores nationwide.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the products, and so far, none of the coating sampled has tested positive for salmonella, the FDA said.

People who still have these treats should not eat them but instead return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

Marty Palmer, president and chief executive officer of Palmer Candy, said, “We are truly sorry for any distress this recall causes to our retail customers and to consumers. We remain committed to the highest standards in food quality and safety. We are taking this recall very seriously and truly appreciate the cooperation of our customers as we work to resolve this matter promptly.”

For more information on the Hostess recall, call 1-800-483-7253 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central time, while those with questions about their Palmer's products should call 712-258-5543 between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
