GEORGE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -
A George County man was arrested on a drug charge Wednesday following a joint investigation involving several law enforcement agencies.
Sheriff Keith Havard said a search warrant served at a home in the Basin community turned up more than a pound of high grade marijuana. Havard said the pot has a street value of up to $10,000.
Jerry Latroy Street, 35, was arrested at the Roy St. home and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Havard said the Mississippi Department of Corrections also has a hold on Street for violating probation after a drug conviction in Texas.
Street is awaiting his initial court appearance at the George County Regional Jail.
Havard said his department, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Lucedale police, Border Patrol, and the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation.
