JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Emergency teams rushed a Jackson County convenience store clerk to the hospital early Monday morning after she was reportedly tied up and had her life threatened. That clerk worked at the Shell gas station on Main St. in the St. Andrews community.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell tells us sometime after 1 a.m., three men forced their way into the store at gunpoint. Once they tied up the clerk, they reportedly stole an ATM, a small safe, and surveillance equipment.
Ezell said several customers may have gone to the store while the robbery was happening, but the store appeared to be closed after the suspects turned out the lights.
The clerk described the suspects as black males wearing gloves and all black clothing. Ezell said they should be considered armed and dangerous.
Officials believe the men responsible for the robbery could be the same suspects wanted in a pair of commercial burglaries in Ocean Springs.
Ezell is asking anyone who may have been at the Shell gas station from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. to come forward. If you have any details that could help investigators solve this case, please call Detective Kline at 228-769-3063 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898.
