BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

With heavy rain often comes heavy flooding.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sunday, City of Biloxi spokesperson Vincent Creel announced that the north end of Lee Street is being shut down. Crews are closing area because there is nowhere to pump excess water.

East Biloxi flooding has been an ongoing problem due to a five-year infrastructure improvement project. In the past residents have voiced concerns, citing driving difficulties and water overflowing into their homes.
