BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - A Bay St. Louis resident is left in temporary housing after an unexpected setback.
A WLOX viewer, who wishes to remain nameless, says she found herself in quite a predicament before sunrise Friday morning. She was asleep in her home at the Waverly Apartment Complex on Old Nicholson Road when she was suddenly awakened by authorities telling her to get out.
Just outside her door was what appeared to be a cave-in on a landing. She was quickly rushed out of the unit, with nowhere to immediately call home.
The complex has provided temporary housing at the Hollywood Casino until investigators can get a better understanding of the situation. In the meantime, she's left wondering what's next.
Bay Saint Louis Mayor Les Fillingame says the city will be conducting its own investigation into the cave-in.
