Suspects wanted in purse snatching in custody

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Two suspects wanted for reportedly snatching a woman’s purse are now in custody.

According to Gulfport Police Sgt. Joshua Bromen, Archie Brandon Culbreath and Lindsey Denise Newman were arrested by the Pennsylvania State Police in Greensburg, Pa. on Dec. 14. 

The robbery happened around 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 6 in a parking lot on Hwy. 49.

The victim told police she was standing near her car when someone shoved her down and stole her purse. Bromen said Culbreath and Newman were developed as suspects in the case, and warrants for simple robbery were issued for their arrest.

Culbreath is 6’ tall and weighs around 220 pounds. Newman is 5’6” and weighs around 180 pounds. They were last seen in a grey Ford F150 extended cab pickup truck.

The suspects are currently awaiting extradition.
