GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

A Gulfport mother is shaken following a hit and run incident involving her 12-year-old daughter.

Jacqueline Trotter says that around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, her daughter was hit by a truck and dragged at the corner of Klein and Three Rivers roads as she attempted to cross the intersection on her bicycle.

The girl was able to free herself after the truck stopped, but the suspect fled. Trotter says her daughter has minor injuries.

According to officials, the suspect was last seen driving a gold or tan truck of an unknown make, model, or type. Police do not have a driver description.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Gulfport Police Department  at 228-868-5959.
