WASHINGTON, DC (WLOX) -

Not many people can say they've been invited to the White House, but Biloxi Councilman Felix Gines is one of them.

Gines attended a holiday reception Friday afternoon at the White House, after receiving an invitation from President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. He sent pictures of the event to WLOX News Now, and even recorded a Facebook Live.

Gines was invited to the holiday celebration because he's the chairman of the Harrison County Democratic Party.
