GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Four men accused of stealing a large amount of beer from a distributing center in Gulfport were caught after a party was busted Friday night.

Sgt. Joshua Bromen said the beer was stolen from a distribution center on Interplex Pkwy. on Dec. 2.

On Dec. 5, police responded to a noise complaint on Pecan Hill Dr. and found several people drinking alcohol there. Bromen said officers noticed a large amount of beer was in shipping packaging instead of normal retail packaging.

Bromen said investigators linked John Thomas Nelson Crumpler, 19, David Clyde Lewis, Jr., 22, and Devin Thomas Lewis, 21, and Jacob Michael Matthews to the Dec. 2 burglary and another theft that happened in November.

Bromen said all four suspects were arrested on James Dr. without incident Tuesday. All four were charged with two counts of vehicle burglary.

Crumpler’s bond was set at $30,000, David Lewis’ was set at $10,000, and Devin Lewis’ and Matthews’ bonds were set at $20,000 each.
