PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) -

A woman is in jail Wednesday, charged in a shooting in Harrison County.

Authorities say her boyfriend remains in the hospital in critical condition after an argument between the couple turned violent.

The 911 call came in around 9 a.m. from a home on Alpine Road in the Delisle community when a man reported he had been shot.

"While speaking to dispatchers, he advised that his girlfriend had shot him with a .45 caliber handgun and had fled the scene in a white Chevy Impala," said Captain Craig Necaise with the Harrison County Sheriff's Department.

Harrison County deputies rushed to the house and found the victim, identified as Deandre Dedeaux.

"We found a black male, 34 years of age, with a gunshot wound to his right buttocks. He was scared. The shooting took place inside the house, so he tried to point us in the direction of where it happened at and we were trying to get him medical aid at the same time," said Necaise.

Meanwhile, a deputy who was heading to the crime scene spotted the suspect's vehicle on Vidalia Road. He stopped the car less than a mile from the house.

"There was a .45 caliber handgun found in the vehicle that was stopped on Vidalia Road," said Necaise.

Authorities arrested 30-year-old Charlotte Lee and charged her with felony domestic aggravated assault. They say Lee lived with Dedeaux off and on.

"It started out as a fight between him and his girlfriend, and the rest is still being investigated," said Necaise.

Dedeaux was airlifted to Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, where he underwent surgery. Lee is being held in the Harrison County jail under a $200,000 bond.
