Gulfport woman accused of pulling gun on Metro PCS employees

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - A Gulfport woman is accused of pulling a gun on store employees while trying to steal a cellphone.

Gulfport Police Department spokesman Sgt. Joshua Bromen said Zjahnese Sade Collins, 29, is charged with armed robbery. She remains behind bars at the Harrison County jail on a $50,000 bond.

Bromen said officers responded to an armed robbery complaint at the Metro PCS store on Hardy Ct. around 5:45 p.m. Monday.

Investigators learned a woman spent several hours walking through the store before attempting to steal a cell phone. The suspect reportedly pulled out a gun when she was confronted by employees.

Bromen said officers took a detailed description of the suspect and found a woman matching that description on Pass Rd. later that night. Collins was positively identified as the suspect involved in the armed robbery, according to Bromen.
