HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A car seen swerving on Hwy. 603 in Hancock County ended up taking police on a two-state chase overnight. It ended with a crash in Louisiana and the arrest of two Hancock County men.

When investigators searched the car, they say they found a white powdery substance, marijuana, pills, a revolver, and a digital scale.

In a St. Tammany Parish jail are Thomas Alexander Rhodes II and Antonio Connetti. They’ll reportedly remain there until they get extradited to Mississippi.

Here’s what we know. The chase started just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday on Hwy. 603 and Bayou La Croix Rd. near Bay St. Louis. The suspicious car and officers following it raced to I-10 and then into Louisiana.

The pursuit ended on I-59 when the car reportedly crashed and the two suspects were arrested.

Rhodes reportedly drove the car in question. Investigators say he’s 26 years old and from Picayune. Deputies say Connetti was the 27-year-old passenger. They list the Kiln as his home address.

Investigators said a third person was in the car Thursday night, but he apparently jumped out of the vehicle when the chase first started. Investigators aren’t sure if he’ll be charged in this case.

The suspects will reportedly be charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of the controlled substance oxycodone.
