BIRMINGHAM, AL (AP) - An Alabama doctor is accused of illegally prescribing drugs that led to the death of longtime 3 Doors Down guitarist Matt Roberts.
Records show Snellgrove was named in a six-count indictment in October. The charges weren't made public until a judge unsealed them last week.
The physician remains free on bond. A defense lawyer says Snellgrove did nothing wrong.
Roberts was a founding member of the Mississippi-based rock band but quit in 2012 citing health reasons. He co-wrote the band's hit "Kryptonite."
Court documents say Roberts had fought substance abuse problems.
