Democrat Frank Lynn Will Head To Moss Point Mayoral General Election

Frank Lynn beat Cathy Keeton by 133 votes in the Moss Point democratic mayoral runoff. Lynn took 52 percent of the vote to Keeton's 48 percent.

Lynn said he has a number of issues he will tackle as he heads to the general election next month.

"We think we prepared ourselves well. We know what we can do. We've preached that all along. We want to reduce taxes. We want to give super service to all the citizens of Moss Point. We want to do some things, fulfill some promises that we made to North Moss Point that hadn't been kept. We want to do those things real quick," Lynn said.

His challenger in the primary runoff, Cathy Keeton, said she was disappointed in the results, but was still looking forward to a bright future.

"I'm disappointed for those who felt I was the person to make that change. But, God didn't allow it. I'm excited because I know there are other good things ahead for me. So I'm not disappointed at all. And my family & I are excited about taking a vacation now," Keeton said.

Incumbent Moss Point Mayor Louis Jackson lost in that city's primary election two weeks ago. Frank Lynn will face independents Dwight Ray and Archie Alford in the general election on June 5th.
