SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality issued two new water contact advisories Friday and lifted another one. It's now safe again to swim in waters off Biloxi East Central Beach from St. Peter Street east to Dukate Street.

MDEQ issued water contact advisories for two sections of waters in Ocean Springs. The new advisories are for Front Beach from the Yacht Club east to Jackson Avenue and Shearwater Beach from Weeks Bayou east to Ashley Place.

Theses parts of the beach are not closed. But, MDEQ warns if you swim in these sections of the Mississippi Sound, the current high bacteria levels mean you have a higher chance of getting sick.

MDEQ will lift these advisories when water samples show that bacteria levels are safe for human contact again.
