MGCCC golf team ranked No. 2 in the nation

PERKINSTON, MS (WLOX) - Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College golf coach Tommy Snell has developed one of the top programs in the nation.

His Bulldogs leaped into the No. 2 slot in the Bushnell Golfweek NJCAA Division II Coaches Poll released on Friday. MGCCC received one first-place vote from the four voters.  Tyler received two first place votes to claim the No. 1 ranking.

Defending national champion South Mountain dropped from No. 1 to third.

Besides MGCCC two other MACJC schools cracked the Top 10 ranking.  Co-Lin is No. 4, and Meridian is No. 8.

Murray State of Oklahoma is ranked No. 5 and is the other school that received a first-place vote.

The Gulf Coast Bulldogs open the competitive spring season February 18-19 in the Elizabeth Kling Memorial in Fairhope, Alabama.
