BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Facebook executives chose one television station from each of the 50 states to participate in its first-ever #50States Facebook Live Election Day initiative.
Two Raycom Media television stations were chosen to participate on behalf of Mississippi and Tennessee.
WLOX in Biloxi, MS and WMC in Memphis, TN were hand-picked by Facebook to broadcast live with the #50States initiative as Americans head to the polls. The live videos will provide viewers real-time access as the voting process gets underway in your home state and across the United States.
"Raycom is proud to have WMC and WLOX take part in this exciting initiative to show the world what Election Day is like in their communities," Director of Digital Content Glen Hale said. "We relish the opportunity to provide a more personalized view of the work we do and what voters are thinking."
Each station chosen for the initiative will focus on the important issues on the ballot and what's taking place at the polling places in their respective states.
"WMC and WLOX are among our most community-engaged stations. We thank Facebook for this opportunity to connect and interact with people in a new way," Hale said.
Follow the hashtag #50States on Facebook throughout the day to see exclusive views from the field and a live look at how the elections are playing out in each state on Election Day.
WLOX will have complete Election Day coverage online and on WLOX News Now throughout the morning, afternoon, and evening.
Digital election coverage from ABC News will begin as soon as the polls close at 7pm, and can be found streaming on WLOX.com and through our free WLOX News Now app.
Live election results will be available throughout the evening online and on-air once the polls officially close.
