GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - You could find just about all of the Harry Potter characters at Barnes and Noble in Gulfport Saturday. Sean Martin was dressed as the main character, Harry Potter. Martin's friend decided to go as Professor Flitwick, and Blake Smith chose to be Sirius Black.
"This today is Nearly Headless Nick, The Gryffindor House Ghost's 524th Deathday Party," said Barnes & Noble employee Rachel Hoyt.
The party, featuring a costume contest, scavenger hunt and crafts, couldn't have come on a better day for 12-year-old Sean Martin.
"This is really cool to me," said Martin. "I found out that it was on my birthday and I was just super stoked for it."
It may have been a while since we've seen a new installment in the Harry Potter series, but it hasn't stopped the enthusiasm from continuing to build.
"There has been a lull, but with all of this you see that there's so many people just like you who still love Harry Potter who still kind of freak out a little bit, I guess," said Hoyt.
One thing all Harry Potter fans have in common? They're always looking for more and have a good idea of what they want to see next.
"I would like to see, honestly, the antagonist of the series, Lord Voldemort, come back and then they can do one more final showdown of Harry and Voldermort at the end," said Martin.
In conjunction with the new Harry Potter movie set to be released next month, Barnes and Noble is planning more events like this one throughout the months of November and December. ?
