BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) -

A Gulf Coast family is inviting anyone looking for a place to enjoy a hot, fresh Thanksgiving Day dinner to join them this year for a feast. The 31st annual event will feature a sit-down, restaurant-style dinner that includes turkey with all the trimmings.

The event is hosted each year by the Kelly family, who partners with American Legion in the Bay each year to bring this community-wide dinner to South Mississippi. People from all different communities are invited.

Whether your family is large or small or whether you're just looking for some company this holiday season, the dinner is free to anyone who wants to come. Organizers at the event say this is their way of giving back to the community and having fellowship with their neighbors.

To-go dinners can even be ordered, but only for residents living in Bay St. Louis, Waveland, and other parts of Hancock County. To reserve a home bound meal, requests must be received by Nov. 21.

The Thanksgiving Day feast will be held Nov. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Bay St. Louis, located at 645 Green Meadow Road. To volunteer for the event or reserve a delivered meal, please call 228-223-7349 or email nkellygirl@yahoo.com.

At 7:30 Wednesday morning, Ocean Springs city workers stepped up to the city hall flag pole. They hooked Mississippi's state flag underneath the American flag, and they raised both flags over the city hall grounds. And just like that, five days of debate over whether the state flag should fly in Ocean Springs temporarily came to an end.
